DJ transition Procedure

To ensure a smooth transition between DJ the following is required :


A DJ will arrive at the club at least 15 min before the start of your set.  If you are coming in hot ( from another set) it is your duty to tell the manager on duty so they can let the current DJ know.

Sam DJ are encouraged to piggy back.  If you can not piggy back you will take the stream at the top of the hour.
Do not take the stream before the hour unless asked by the DJ before you or a member of the voodoo management team HAS ASKED.


It is YOUR JOB to message the current DJ before taking the stream.
Some DJ may count you in.  If they do not let them know you will take it at the top of the hour.

DJ are to make sure THEIR STREAM IS WORKING before taking the stream at the hour.  This means checking your stream before you start.


Current DJ are to try to end right on time their set at the 00 hour.


at the 57 mark you should not be talking on mic, you should have said your goodbyes, thanked your vips and current staff working with you ON MIC.

DJ can send out TWO AND ONLY TWO invites to their DJ group between 15 min into their set and 10 min to the last of their set.

DJ are to remain ACTIVE on mic as much as possible and keep up as active with the local chat as possible.  If nobody is there talk to your host or manager or even yourself, we will not judge you.

DJ, while having fun is awesome, please refrain from mic fucking aka moaning nonstop into the mic.

REMEMBER to log out of your tip jar at the end of your set and log in at the start of your set.

Promote events, your host and the staff donation jars.



PIGGYBACKING PROCEDURE
**You'll want to start doing this no later than 5 mins to the top of the hour**

Step 1 - COPY from the ABOUT LAND TAB the URL of the preceding DJ
Step 2 - GO to SAM Broadcaster and in the Music QUEUE, press down the arrow to the right of the big GREEN + sign.
Step 3 - A box will pop up where you'll paste the STREAM URL of the current DJ
Step 4 - Drag the displayed stream (now in your QUEUE) to either of your main Decks and press play. You will now hear the live stream of the current DJ.
Step 5 - Run your encoder (you are now streaming the current DJ).
Step 6 - Switch to your stream at :58 by either logging into the shoutcast board or by dropping your stream in land.
Step 7 - Fade to your next song in the queue at :00, unless you've made other arrangements with the previous DJ.

VDJ/LIVE MIX DJ PROCEDURE

Step 1 - Start your stream/music. Loop your first track.
Step 2 - At :00, start your first track and either hit the shoutcast board or drop your stream in land.

DROPPING STREAM IN LAND

*in the event that the shoutcast board is not available/working, we will use this procedure*
*make sure your encoder/stream is running before doing this*

Step 1 - Click on "about land"
Step 2 - Click on the sound tab
Step 3 - Copy/paste your stream URL in the box
Step 4 - Close the box
